Editorial Policy: How We Write, Review and Update Content

MFG Tech Hub publishes free tutorials, guides and calculators about industrial automation and smart manufacturing. Engineers use this information in real plants, so accuracy matters. This page explains how our content is created, reviewed and kept up to date.

Who writes the content

MFG Tech Hub is owned and run by Bhargava Reddy Kapireddy, a manufacturing and control systems professional with 16 years of hands-on experience with MES, SCADA, DCS, PLC and industrial data systems. He is responsible for every article and tool published on the site.

Our principles

• Practical first. We explain how technology is used in real plants, not only how it is described in brochures.
• Vendor-neutral. We explain concepts, architectures and standards that apply across suppliers. When we mention products or vendors, it is for illustration, not endorsement.
• Clear and accurate. We aim for plain language without sacrificing technical correctness.
• Honest about limits. Industrial systems are safety-critical. Our content is educational and never replaces manufacturer documentation, applicable standards or a qualified engineer’s judgment. See our disclaimer.

How articles are researched

Articles are based on:

• Practical project and plant experience
• Published international standards, such as those from ISA and IEC (for example ISA-95, ISA-88, ISA-99/IEC 62443, IEC 61131-3 and IEC 60751)
• Manufacturer technical documentation and application notes
• Established engineering textbooks and industry references

Formulas, conversion factors and worked examples in our articles and calculators are checked by calculation before publication.

Use of AI tools

We may use AI writing and editing tools to help draft, structure, proofread or improve articles. AI output is never published without human review: the author checks technical content for accuracy, removes anything that cannot be verified, and adds practical context. The author remains fully responsible for everything published on the site.

Reviews and updates

Automation technology and standards change over time. We review and update articles when:

• A standard, technology or common practice changes
• A reader reports an error or an unclear explanation
• We find a better way to explain a topic

The “Updated” date at the top of an article shows when it was last meaningfully revised.

Examples, figures and case studies

• Worked and illustrative examples are labelled as such. Scenarios that describe “a plant” or “a typical project” are composites based on common engineering practice, not descriptions of a specific company.
• We do not publish performance claims without a source. Figures such as “downtime reduced by X%” are only used when they come from a cited, verifiable source, and we explain what was measured. Engineering calculations are shown with their assumptions.
• Named organisations are mentioned only for well-documented, publicly reported facts (for example, published incident reports), never for invented results.

Vendor, product and standards information

• Product names, ownership and capabilities change through acquisitions and new releases. Vendor-specific statements are checked against the vendor’s current official documentation at the time of writing, and pages carry an “Updated” date.
• Standards are referred to by number and title; always check the current edition with the issuing organisation (IEC, ISO, ISA, IEEE, NFPA and others).
• Product comparisons use engineering criteria (capabilities, architecture, protocols, scalability, security, lifecycle, support) and explain which option suits which requirements. We do not declare any product universally “best”.
• Technical articles are educational. Before applying anything in a plant, verify it against current standards, the manufacturer’s documentation for your exact product and version, and your site’s procedures.

Corrections

If you find an error, please contact us with the page address and a short description. We review every report. Confirmed errors are corrected promptly, and significant corrections are noted in the article.

Independence and advertising

MFG Tech Hub is funded by advertising served by Google AdSense. Advertisers have no influence over what we write, and we do not accept payment to publish or change editorial content. Advertisements are clearly labeled and kept separate from article content. We do not publish sponsored articles.

If this changes, for example if we publish sponsored content or use affiliate links, it will be clearly disclosed on the page where it appears.

Calculators and tools

Our free engineering calculators show the formulas and assumptions they use, so you can verify the results. They are intended for learning and quick checks. Always confirm critical values against your equipment documentation and site procedures.
